Prologue
The evil, Commander Flybor stood on the command bridge of his warship, Supremacy. All about him, Inzect officers swarmed with activity at their computer stations. Flybor, however, did not notice the work going on about him. Instead, he peered out the main window of the command bridge at a glowing planet of blue and green.
On the opposite side of the bridge, the Plot Master carefully watched as three Inzect officers adjust the Supremacy’s navigation controls. Satisfied, he climbed a small flight of stairs and approached his leader.
“Commander Flybor, the flagship has come out of light speed. We are now assuming orbit over the planet Zim.”
Flybor turned slowly. “Excellent,” he hissed. “Inform Dr. Mantiz on the planet's surface of our arrival. I am curious to see his progress for myself.”
“And the Zimians, my lord?” the Plot Master questioned. “What of them?”
“Ah, yes my Plot Master,” Flybor replied with a hideous laugh. “You are right. We mustn’t forget our generous hosts.”
He turned back toward the window. “And Zim. It is such a small world, an insignificant world. Not truly worthy of being the staging ground for our galactic domination.”
Flybor faced the Plot Master again. “Have General Borg prepare my shuttle.”
The Plot Master bowed slowly. “As you wish, Commander.”
In the royal palace on the planet Zim, King Zim stood on the grand balcony overlooking the capital city of Zintrella. Like his visitor above him, the king was also lost in thought. He never heard the door open behind him nor did King Zim hear the footsteps of the young, Zimian girl approaching.
“What troubles you, father?” the Zimian girl questioned as the startled king turned to face her.
“The Inzects have arrived,” Zim answered. “They have arrived to test their new creation.”
“And there is nothing we can do to stop them?"
“Zindy, my precious daughter,” the king responded, stroking the whiskers on her cheek. “You are still young and foolish. We are just pawns here in a much larger game. Below us, lies a sleeping giant. Above us, a snake waiting to strike.”
Zim walked by his daughter and motioned for her to follow. “Come. We must be ready to receive our guests.”
Zindy opened her mouth to protest but noticed her father had already gone.
